The car was fine, it’s the customer service that wasn’t great. First off, I had to tell the person checking the car out several times over that I did not want their insurance because I had my own. Plus he was telling me it was going to be $400 whereas most rental car insurance is more like $150. I eventually had to say outright please stop talking about it, I’m not interested. So checkout was quite annoying in that regard. On the trip, the car broke down (my fault, I put the wrong gas in). The rental company said they would send a taxi and tow truck in 1-1.5 hours. It took 3 hours for the taxi to get there, then they said we have to wait for the tow truck, another hour and nothing. They kept saying “we don’t know how long but you can’t leave”. The taxi driver was mad, he talked to his manager, and eventually we just left. Who knows when the tow truck got there. Checkout was simple and efficient considering there was extra paperwork. Would’ve been nice if that was the whole experience.
